Our Beliefs
What We Believe
At Jesus Name United Pentecostal Church, everything we believe is grounded in the Bible. We are part of the United Pentecostal Church International, and we hold to the Apostolic message taught by Jesus and His disciples.
Who Is God?
We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and He has revealed Himself to us as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in His work within us.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1, 14). He is both fully God and fully man. The fullness of God dwells in Him (Colossians 2:9), and through His death, burial, and resurrection, He made a way for us to be saved.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16).
Salvation
We believe the New Testament plan of salvation, which is repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues—just as it happened in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:38, Acts 10:44–48, Acts 19:1–6).
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of Spirit-filled believers. Our purpose is to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus in Midland and around the world (Matthew 22:37–39; Matthew 28:19).
Christian Living
We believe in living a holy and Spirit-led life, both inwardly and outwardly (Romans 12:1–2; Hebrews 12:14). Our goal is to reflect the character of Christ in everything we do and to share His love with others.

Meet Our Pastors
Pastor Steve & Sis. Elaine Weaver
Pastor Steve Weaver once built Indy Car engines for some of the world’s greatest drivers, but when God called him to pastor, he laid down that career to follow his true purpose—preaching the Word of God to the people of Midland, Texas.
Sis. Elaine Weaver was raised in the church under the guidance of her parents, Rev. Audice and Mary Wallace, who faithfully served as pastors of Jesus Name United Pentecostal Church before her. She later graduated from Midland College with a degree in nursing, carrying her heart for service into both her profession and ministry.
Together, Pastor and Sis. Weaver share a deep love for the Lord and a passion for reaching the city of Midland with the Gospel.
